I think I may have my groove back...

So the last couple of weeks I'm been kinda unfocused. I have no idea why, I just can really figure out how to start anything, today however has been different. Yes, I got very little done, but I was able to organize myself and I feel like I have a game plan. I also am way more motivated to do what I'm supposed to be doing. So maybe my winter blahs are over. Tomorrow I'm going to write 7 conduct letters, write questions for my assessment survey, workout (I've been doing this part regularly with the trainer, although I've gained weight, stupid muscles) and comment 3 times with my online class. If I do this I will get a lot of what is on my to do list off and will able to feel better about what is going on around me.

I also had a talk today with my boss about our budget and it looks like the worst case senerio is that we would be absorbed by another department, or we would all take reduced contracts (meaning some unpaid time off on top of what NAU is already thinking about), but that's ok cause at least I'd have a job and some time to do something else cause my life is not all students and conduct. Maybe I'll try to get a part time job with a local non-profit or someplace where I don't have to talk to people all day or maybe I'll get to do something creative. I miss that part of my life, but I could clean houses too if all else fails. Dave Ramsey keeps recommending a book called 48 days to the work you love, maybe I should pick that up and revamp my resume. The best news is that it doesn't look like anything major is going to happen until July so that gives me some time to come up with a good plan. So in the mean time, I'm going to try and stay focused, positive, and accountable to myself and finish up classes :) Oh yeah and still have time for adventures....

Which brings me to last weekend. Bryan and I were shopping at Sam's Club, when Bryan got a phone call from someone on his jeep list. They were stuck outside of Flagstaff and needed help. Now my husband is a lot like my grandaddy, in the sense that he can't say no to someone that needs help especially when he can use his Jeep. (It really got weird when he started talking about volunteering for the fire department and for those of you who know my gran then you understand...I kept getting visions of sitting by the scanner to hear what was going on ala Grammy)

So, we dropped everything and drove 45 minutes back to our house to get the Jeep and the dog and started to drive back into town. In the mean time Bryan called two of our friends with Jeeps and told them to meet us. Now, by the time we got back into town the guy who needed our help had gotten unstuck (silly Phoenicians stuck in the snow), but we had the jeep, the dog, and friends and were ready for adventure so it was off to Sedona we went to do some night Off-Roading.

After a lovely dinner at McDonald's, where you can see the only teal arches in the world, we hit the trail. Now it took us a bit to find a trail that was not closed or lost due to new road construction, but we finally decided on Broken Arrow. In the mean time we did get to see a javalina cross the road, and someone being pulled over by the Sedona Police. I guess it's about the journey.

The weather was somewhat warm, the night was clear and I decided it was a great time for Grace and I to do a night hike. I got out of the jeep and Bryan and our friends took off, after trying to make sure I had a flashlight. Grace and I walked up the trail and because the moon was bright the rocks around us looked as if they were glowing and the stars were very bright. It was a beautiful night and the lights of Sedona in the distance were very enchanting. Bryan picked me up around nine, we bought some groceries and headed home. It was the latest we had stayed up in a while (midnight) but it was well worth it even if we have no pictures.
