I'm like pavlov's dogs....a chime makes me all mushy hearted
Tonight I am sitting in Extended Campus working on stuff while Bryan does some server maitenence. I'm tired, and although he is only 10 feet away I messaged him over IM just to be funny. It reminded me of how when I lived in England I would stay up till all hours of the night just so we could im back and forth. I missed him so much during that time, and was so happy just to know he was out there thinking about me. I counted down the days until he came to see me by cutting out snowflakes and hanging them all over my room. I tried to keep it a secret as long as I could, but we video chatted some nights and the snowflakes ended up getting in the shot. I'll never forget nervously waiting at the airport for him, and being so happy when I saw him in his batteries not included shirt that I had bought him for christmas. I just broke down. All of this was before gmail and they did not keep track of your history. So our mundane electronic love letters from that time are probably lost. It's funny, because sometimes I think our best communication is done with chimes letting us know when the other person is done with a thought. It makes us think about what we are saying, and stops us from cutting the other person off. But to tell you the truth now that I think of it sometimes better communication is done in person. So I'm going to finish this off and go kiss my husband while I'm still all mushy hearted.

I remember those days... long-distance relationships were tough, and expensive! I guess it was better than when I dated Mike in high school and we had to write letters with real paper and pens. Those were easier to keep though if you're a sentimental sweetheart like Mike, not so much if you're me and figured you'd never see that guy again ;)
I finally threw away my high school letters from my ex about 4 years ago. He was in Korea, so it was pen and paper all the way. I've tried to really write bryan, but I'm afraid he'll hide it all behind a tree somewhere on my land.
