So I slept through the night last night. I gave myself a facial last night, soaked in the tub, and took a sleeping pill. I think the sleeping pill probably worked the best because when grace whined I was able to ignore her and somewhat sleep through it. I'm not making this a habit, but it's amazing how much better the day looks when you aren't woken up every couple of hours. I am filled with a whole new feeling of optimism...that and students are leaving which always puts me in a better mood :).
The spring semester for the most part was a good one. ASWI pulled off vagina monologues, the second womyn's conference and womyn's fest and they didn't go broke doing it. Conduct for the most part was ok, and Bryan and I are continuing to pay down debt. The reception that the group of us are having is killing this pay period, but it's not going on credit so that's a huge step.
We also hiked the Grand Canyon and stayed down at phantom ranch. When we were down there we were able to see a arridian flare, the international space station (which we also listened to on ham), heard about the kolb brothers and met some very cool people. The colors of the grand canyon are beautiful and if you ever can hike to the bottom it's like visiting all the prettiest parts of Arizona all in one place. When you see it from the top it looks like a movie set, but when you are in it you are amazed by how real it it.
I think my favorite day of hiking was coming up from phantom ranch to indian gardens. That is a really nice hike and Bryan commented how similar I am to grace in the way that I'm only happy when I'm working. So true.
After we got up to Indian Gardens we hiked out to Platau Point. Amazing. You go through a mesa and hit drop off where you just see the river about a half a mile below you and you can hear it. It's that loud. It was very awe inspiring. From Indian Gardens to the top, I'm not such a huge fan of, but all and all it's an amazing trip that I hope Bryan and I can do again someday, but not in the summer time :).
This summer we're planning on using some of my reduced contract time to go to denver and maybe some other short trips. I'm also taking two classes and finishing up my internship. So I should have an actual degree by August, rather than just pretending I graduated :) So stay tuned. I'm hoping to write more, have more adventures, and have LovelessChristian back up soon with pictures.
