The catch up from last weekend and figuring out my life

Last Friday got spade, and so the weekend was pretty low key. Friday we watched Grace be all drugged up, which was harder on me that it was her. Saturday we cleaned the house and made sure Grace stayed somewhat calm, but Sunday we needed to do something...so with the bald man's blessing we invited a few friends over to smoke some meat. We had a beef chuck roast in the freezer that I seasoned, our friends mark and erin had some pork tenderloin, and chris brought over sausage. The meat turned out really well and I used the zukes from my garden:

    It was huge!

to make zuchini fudge cupcakes with homemade frosting and rasberry jam in the middle. They were excellent. We also smoked some potatos, which were not as excellent.

Here are some more pictures from the garden and more can be found at:

eggplants are my friends this year

    Herbs Glorious Herbs....

Bryan really likes "The Onion" but I always used to think it was the "news" paper not the actual veggie.

Yesterday, after work, we had some of the rest of the pot roast until Grace decided to jump up on the counter and eat what was left. I didn't mind though cause she looked so glamour shot cute afterwards and I had just finished talking to my advisor about doctorial programs and we figured out that it looks like I have a year to research and I will apply for programs in Spring 2010. This way I can finish up my public administration certificate and can draw out my internship though the summer. She also gave me a list of people to contact and an idea of where to start which was extremely helpful. I know I work at Northern Arizona University, but I've been a student here for 10 years and I have to say that all of my advisors have been awesome! So if you are looking for a small institution where you get to know your advisors, do yourself a favor and look at NAU. I am so proud to be a part of this university sometimes.
